ATAL TINKERING LAB

Atal Tinkering Lab is a national level programme conducted by National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) – the premier policy ‘Think Tank’ of the Government of India.

Following the guidelines of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 that included all the tech-related features focusing on artificial intelligence the most, Oak Valley School has included AI in the education curriculum. This new initiative of AI-ATL integration in school curriculum will help in achieving the goal of NEP of developing 21st-century skills in students and preparing them for the fourth Industrial Revolution.

Objectives of the program:

• To nurture spirit of innovation, invention & discovery in youth and develop a design mindset

• To provide opportunities to students to demystify tinkering while using AI

• To democratize skills of tinkering and AI and make it accessible for all.

• To enhance the learning outcomes of the students and making them future-ready.

ATL in-charge: The Atal Tinkering Lab functions under the curriculum designed by AIM as per the ATL calendar. The entire programme of ATL is overseen by the ATL in-charge Ms. Dakshayani.

The duties of ATL trainer:

  • Follows the curriculum given by AIM
  • Follow up the participation of students for relevant competitions/ projects/ seminars, etc.
  • Review the working condition of the lab equipment.
  • Motivates students on the importance of having knowledge on AI in future perspectives.
  • Timely updates the dashboard on AIM portal.

 

ATL trainer: The Atal Tinkering Lab has a qualified and trained instructor to take up the theory and practical sessions for students of grade VI to X, day to day. The trainer assigned to our ATL lab is Ms. Sangeeta.

A predetermined time-table is given to conduct the ATL sessions. The students maintain their lab note book to make a note of observations and results they get during lab activities.

The duties of ATL trainer:

  • Maintains the lab norms
  • Conducts class and age-appropriate theory and lab sessions.
  • Maintains the attendance of students attending lab.
  • Follow up the participation of students for relevant competitions/ projects/ seminars, etc.
  • Updates the working condition of the lab equipment to the lab in-charge.
  • Motivates students on the importance of having knowledge on AI in future perspectives.
  • Provides information to ATL in-charge for timely updates the dashboard on AIM portal.

Students involved for ATL:

All students of grade VI to IX attend the Atal Tinkering Lab. They show interest in learning concepts. They explore their knowledge while working with circuits and components.
